According to the SCA (Specialty Coffee Association), Specialty coffee can consistently exist through the dedication of the people who have made it their life's work to continually make quality their highest priority. This is not the work of only one person in the lifecycle of a coffee bean; specialty can only occur when all of those involved in the coffee value chain work in harmony and maintain a keen focus on standards and excellence from start to finish. This is no easy accomplishment, and yet because of these dedicated professionals, there are numerous specialty coffees available right now, across the globe, and likely right around the corner from you.

Almost a decade later, after humble beginnings in 2008, we at ONA Coffee now proudly celebrate four cafés in Canberra, one in Sydney and supply exceptional, locally-roasted coffee to over 100 more.
Via the ethical trading company, Project Origin, we source the highest quality green beans produced in the most sustainable ways possible, deal directly with producers and empower communities in Ethiopia, Colombia, Honduras, El Salvador, Panama, Nicaragua and India, among others.
Normcore Coffee is a Sydney based specialty coffee roasting company established in 2016, the teaming up of two coffee professionals, Nate Lee and Chanho Hong.
The combined word, ‘Normcore’ is from fashion industry meaning ‘normal’ plus ‘hardcore’. Normcore Coffee aims to consistently deliver a pretty ‘damn good coffee’ (which is a slogan of us) to our customers be it is a black coffee such as an espresso, long black and filter or a white milk based coffee.
Thus, we take a serious approach to making damn good ‘hardcore’ side, which is where top quality specialty grade coffees are chosen for our single origin black coffee lineup; and also where we focus on the other side which is providing a damn good, sweet, milky coffee with our ‘normal’ customer-focused made blend.
Our specialty is not only sharing great coffees with our customers but also helping to move the local coffee scene forward, by sharing our knowledge and experience, to instilling higher values behind-the-scenes such as: sustainability, consistency, efficiency and growth.
